Senior Accountant, Innovation Endeavors New York

Role Description: This position will have primary responsibility of record keeping, financial reporting and operational oversight for two private investment funds and their respective management companies. The senior accountant will work closely with the fund administrators, investment team and senior management of the firm to ensure accuracy and completeness of the fund’s general ledger and to complete quarterly financial reporting packages. The senior accountant will be responsible for understanding and applying current accounting principles and venture capital valuation metrics to the accounting and financial reporting of the investment funds.


  • Review general ledger of two investment funds and management companies prepared by fund administrator to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Oversee reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Preparation of capital calls and distributions notices to fund investors
  • Maintain a working understanding of the limited partnership agreement(s) and apply the terms to the financial reporting and the income and expense allocations
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current accounting principles and developing issues that affect investment partnerships and advising clients on their proper application
  • Preparation of financial statements for both funds and management companies
  • Allocation of income and expenses to the partners’ capital accounts
  • Oversee and possibly perform accounts payable function including payment of invoices and other expenses
  • Preparation of various management reports for assigned investment funds
  • Perform and review cash management for the management company and investment vehicles
  • Take complete ownership of accounting and reporting process for these investment funds and management companies


  • College degree with a major in accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • 3-6 years of experience working as a staff accountant in a public accounting firm or an entry level accountant in private equity or venture capital 
  • At least 1+ year(s) in private equity/fund administration either working in-house for a fund or as a fund administrator
